Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." - Matthew 28:19-20

It's been a great week. We were able to go to 3 areas</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">and work with some great elders. In one area, the Elders made us</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">homemade pizza and tortillas for tacos. I was pretty impressed. Much</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">different from the normal missionary meals that we usually eat, so</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">that was nice. W</span><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">e are heading out to the Niigata zone, which</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">is a pretty far and isolated area of the mission. We will stay there</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">for 2 weeks and visit all of the areas in the zone. It's also the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">coldest and apparently most beautiful part of the mission, so it</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">should be a great experience.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Today we went to a young single adult ward family home evening,</span></i></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><i><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;"> and I was asked to share the message.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">I shared from a talk given by Sister Cook in a 2016 young adults</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">devotional called "Find Joy in Everyday Life" as well as President</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Nelson's past conference talk "Joy and Spiritual Survival". We truly</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">can have joy in any situation. It's like in 1 Nephi 17 when they</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">have been traveling in the wilderness and eating raw meat, Nephi still</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">talks about how they have been blessed and are happy. I love the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">gospel! Talk to you next week. Love,</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Elder Snyder</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">スナイダー長老</span></i></span>Tristahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04658496349545601501noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1963263111336486952.post-80740664828830669282017-01-23T16:12:00.000-08:002017-01-24T16:12:59.554-08:00God loves His children<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Hey everyone, it's been another great week! We went to two different</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">areas last week, Oizumi and Kamagaya. Both were great! In Kamagaya, we</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">were doing some street contacting and had a great experience. We</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">testified to a man that the teachings of Jesus Christ bring peace and</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">happiness to our lives, and he replied saying that he already feels</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">peace and happiness in his life. As I thought about what to say to</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">him, the spirit told me that God loves each of His children and wants</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">all to feel happy in life. There are many activities that will bring</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">us happiness and different things that will bring us peace. But the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">only way we can feel real and true happiness and peace, is through</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">living the gospel of Jesus Christ. As I testified of this to him, I</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">felt the Spirit giving power to my words. Whether he felt it or not,</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">whether he accepted it or not, I once again felt the confirmation of</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">the spirit that these things are true. I'm so grateful to be here in</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">this amazing country, sharing this great gospel with God's children. I</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">pray you all can have experiences as this as you share your testimony.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Love you all, God speed!</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Elder Snyder</span></i></span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">スナイダー長老</span>Tristahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04658496349545601501noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1963263111336486952.post-30617771380786051052017-01-16T16:09:00.000-08:002017-01-24T16:11:45.315-08:00Pile o' food!<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Well, another week come and gone. This past week we went on exchanges</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">in two areas called Maebashi and Kasukabe. They both went well and got</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">to work with some great elders. In Maebashi, I ate one of the bigger</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">meals I've had. 6 pieces of huge karaage, which is just fried chicken,</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">taken and rice. It was crazy, but I'll send a picture. It was so good.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">So actually right now I'm in an area called Oizumi, which is actually</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">a Portuguese speaking area. I'm working with 2 Brazilian elders until</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Wednesday, so it's gonna be great. I'm excited!</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">I hope you we all able to take the challenge to study more about the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">life of Christ. I have and it has been great. He is our Savior and our</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Brother. Look to Him! <span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><i>Hey everyone! Sorry, I don't have a lot to write about this week. So,<br />New Years here in Japan is a really big holiday, which makes it hard<br />to be out doing missionary work. So we stayed here at the mission home<br />and had Book of Mormon reading and apartment deep cleaning days. Then<br />this past weekend we went on exchanges at an area called Urawa, which<br />went great. We saw some cool miracles! I also got a new companion,<br />whose name is Elder Seeger. He's great!<br /><br />Today we went to ward activity called a "mochi tsuki". Mochi is<br />pounded rice, which makes this sticky pounded rice ball that you eat<br />with different stuff on it. It's pretty cool so I'll send some<br />pictures!<br /><br />The church is true! Today I want to challenge you to look at Elder<br />Russel M Nelson's Facebook and read his challenge about studying the<br />life and teachings of the Savior. I will be doing it as well, and I'm<br />sure that our testimonies will be strengthened. Love you all, have a<br />great week!</i></span><br />

It was great to talk to most of you on Skype</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">yesterday. Glad to see everyone's doing well. So today was temple</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Pday, which was great of course. This past week we did exchanges in</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">three different areas called Urayasu, Matsudo and YACHIYO! <span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><i>Hey everyone! It's been a good few weeks. Things are great here and<br />it's the Christmas season which makes it even better. As I think you<br />know, Japan is not a Christian country, but during this Christmas<br />season it gets them thinking about Christ and why so many of us<br />celebrate His birth. So it's awesome getting to have conversations<br />with people on the streets about Christ and why He is so important for<br />all of us. So in the past few weeks I've been able to work in some<br />different areas. It's great to get to see different areas and work<br />with different missionaries, but it's especially great to see the hand<br />of the Lord working in all of the areas. My testimony has been<br />strengthened as I've seen how God blesses His missionaries as they<br />work with diligence and faith.<br /><br />Another awesome thing happened yesterday! Our investigator Brother<br />Tsunashima, from Tokyo 2nd ward which I just transferred out, of was<br />baptized. He asked me to do the confirmation so I was able to go back<br />and see the baptism, then confirm him in sacrament meeting. It was a<br />great experience and now he joins his wife and 3 daughters as a member<br />of the church! They were so happy.<br /><br />So it's the week of Christmas! That means I'll be skyping home. It<br />looks like I'll be skyping on Monday morning around <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_428259504" style="border-bottom: 1px dashed rgb(204, 204, 204); position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">10:00</span></span>, which will<br />be Sunday night sometime for you. I hope you are all enjoying the<br />Christmas season and being proactive in spreading your light.<br /><br />I'm grateful to be a missionary now, especially during this time of<br />year. Christ is our Savior and we get to celebrate and help others<br />celebrate His birth! Love you all, have a great week!</i></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>Hey everyone!<br /><br />Sorry, things have been pretty busy the past few weeks so I haven't<br />gotten much emailing done, but today should be fine! Last week was<br />temple p-day. It was great. Elder Nitta and I were able to finish off<br />our two transfers together strong. This past week we were able to find<br />some strong new investigators with a lot of potential. Mori, Takumi<br />and a man named Henry are all looking solid and look like they'll<br />start progressing soon. We have just about finished up teaching<br />Tsunashima Kyoudai all of the lessons and he's looking good for his<br />baptism! So today was transfer calls today and I found out I'll be<br />leaving Senzokuike/Tokyo 2nd wards. I've been here for 4 transfers,<br />about 6 months, and it has been awesome. I've really grown to love the<br />members in both the Japanese and English ward. Definitely one of my<br />favorite places to be. So Elder Nitta will be staying here and I'm<br />becoming a traveling assistant. So I still don't know exactly what<br />that entails but I don't actually have an area! My companion and I<br />will travel around the mission and do splits with missionaries in<br />different areas, hoping to help strengthen each area while we're<br />there. Should be a great experience and I'm sure I'll learn a ton. I<br />sure will miss all of the people here, members, investigators,<br />friends. Definitely one of my favorite things about the mission is<br />building these relationships with people that will will last for a<br />long time. For all you RMs out there, get in touch with people from<br />your mission, I'm sure they'd love to here from you!<br /><br />Speaking of, one of the greatest relationships that I've been able to<br />make is with an investigator named Hirotsugu Iwagi. He's the<br />investigator that had the accident and is still recovering, but we<br />became way tight right from when we started meeting with him. He's not<br />baptized YET, but I'm sure he will be eventually. I've seen how, even<br />though he's not baptized yet, just applying principles and following<br />commandments can change a life so much. Another one is Tsunashima<br />Kyoudai. His wife is a member and he has 3 active daughters. Since<br />we've started teaching him, living the gospel of Jesus Christ has<br />changed him. I know the gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives. I know<br />this church contains the fulness of His gospel. Remember all, this<br />Christmas season to live as Jesus Christ and light the world! This is<br />a great time to help others feel the light of Christ and make steps<br />towards living His gospel. I invite you to invite! Love you all, have<br />a great week!</i></span><div class="yj6qo" style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px; font-style: normal;">

We actually have 2 Thanksgiving meal appointments, one on</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Thursday and another on Saturday. I'm excited! This past week we were able</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">to go to the baptism of an old investigator named Brother Uchiyama. He</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">was a referral from a member back when Elder Broberg and I were</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">together. We taught him for a few weeks and then referred him to the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">elders in the Ward he lives in. He's an awesome guy and is gonna be</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">such a great member! I'll send a picture of us with him at his</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">baptism. I do have some kind of rough news though.. Our investigator</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Iwagi kyoudai has had a pretty rough time as of late. He's the one</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">that was in the accident and just had surgery on his hand, but he has</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">kind of decided as of late that he doesn't really want to study the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">gospel as much right now. His body condition from his injury hasn't</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">been the best lately and so it's just kind of hurt him motivation wise</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">in all aspects. He's not completely rejecting it, and he still loves</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">us and the members, but he says he's going to stop living the gospel</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">and see if he notices a difference in his life. That has been pretty</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">darn tough, because I've really grown to love him over the past few</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">months that we've been teaching him. Sometimes people's agency just</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">makes you so sad! But that's just part of God's plan, huh. So, we'll</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">keep praying for him and definitely stay in touch so hopefully he'll</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">realize how much he needs the gospel. Other than that, our</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">investigator Tsunashima Kyoudai is doing so well, he has his baptism</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">date and is progressing towards it! So lately our mission has started</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">a new free English teaching program, in which we are helping high</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">school and college students prepare for big entrance exams here in</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Japan called the Eiken and TOIEC. Pretty much all Japanese students</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">have to take these tests, so by providing these prep courses it's</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">expected that we'll really increase the foot traffic in the church,</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">which will of course increase new investigators and baptisms. This is</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">going to BIG! So recently our days have been consisting of hitting the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">streets finding new investigators and new students, teaching lessons</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">and English, and studying! It's the life.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">I want to share an insight on something I've been studying and</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">learning about. It's about receiving guidance and revelation through</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">the Holy Ghost. God of course wants to guide us throughout our lives.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">But receiving that guidance of course is predicated first upon our</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">obedience. We all know that one, so lets be obedient! But the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">frequency and clarity of promptings kind of depend on a few things.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">First, how willing we are to act on promptings and how much we're</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">actually seeking them. For example, are we praying to find missionary</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">opportunities but never opening our mouths about the gospel? It also</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">depends on how prompt we are to act on the guidance that we receive.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">It's my challenge to you to always be seeking for the guidance of the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">spirit, being willing to act and to act promptly. I have a sure</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">testimony that God is there and guides us through the Spirit. Love you</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">all, have a great Thanksgiving week!!</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Elder Snyder and Elder Nitta</span></i></span><br />

Things are going pretty well here. I'm just going to</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">write about one great experience we had last week. So Iwagi Hirotsugu,</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">our investigator who has been in the hospital just got out on</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Saturday, but before that, we had been wondering and praying about how</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">we can help him. So on Friday, we get a random call from a great</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">member here in the Japanese ward, and told us that he wanted to go</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">visit Iwagi Kyoudai in the hospital. So on Thursday night, we went and</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">visited him and it was great. The member was so kind to him and shared</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">great testimony and really got to know him. Through it we were able to</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">really help lift Iwagi Kyoudai 's spirits. It was a great example to</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">me as 1, how God answers prayers and 2, how important service,</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">especially from just normal members, helps people so much. I hope we</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">all look for opportunities to show love to others. Love you!</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Elder Snyder and Elder Nitta</span></i></span>Tristahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04658496349545601501noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1963263111336486952.post-52079884038814897212016-10-24T13:20:00.000-07:002017-01-24T05:12:50.277-08:00Transfer call!<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><i><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Hey hey everyone! One more week, come and gone. Life in Tokyo is</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">great! Today was transfer calls! Elder Calhoun, an Elder that I've</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">lived with for the past 3 transfers is going home! We've become really</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">good friends so it's sad to see him go, but I've actually learned a</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">lot from him so I'm grateful for the experience. I'm still with Elder</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Nitta, which is great, and also district leader again this transfer.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Looking forward to it!</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">These past few weeks have been kind of tough. Our investigator Iwagi</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Kyoudai got surgery on his injured hand and has had to stay in the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">hospital for 2 weeks. We've been able to visit him a few times which</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">has been good though. Yu is still in Beijing and a couple other</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">investigators have fallen off the map. We did receive a referral</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">though named Tsunashima Kyoudai, who is the husband of a member and</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">father of 3 returned missionaries. He has finally decided that he</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">wants to get baptized, which is so awesome! We are teaching him now</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">and it's been going well. We were also able to meet a new investigator</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">on the street who seems to have good potential, so the Lord is</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">definitely still blessing us!</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">This church is the church of the Lord. The miracles, the feelings and</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">the blessings that we receive are surely undeniable. Christ is at the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">head of His church and I know that He is hastening the work of</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">salvation. Even in the world we live in today, I know that peace and</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">guidance can be found through holding to the rod and staying on the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">path that leads towards eternal life. Love you all, have a great week!</span></i></span><br />

The weather here in Tokyo is</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>finally starting to cool down a bit! It's now in the 50s in the</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>morning and 60s throughout the day. Prime proselyting weather! The</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>final week of the transfer has begun. Crazy! Still feels like I just</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>went and picked up Elder Nitta. But the work is great and I love</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>working with Elder Nitta. We have a lot of fun working and it's</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>awesome to experience miracles together. Tomorrow Elder Bednar is</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>coming to our mission for a conference. I'm pretty excited! It's</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>always awesome having general authorities come and train us,</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>especially an apostle of the Lord. (Even better when it's one you</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>(kinda) have a connection with!) I'm sure it will be a great</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>opportunity to learn from on high and receive lots of guidance.</i></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /></i></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>So last week our investigator Hirotsugu Iwagi went into the hospital</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>to have surgery on his hand again. I'm not sure if I've explained his</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>situation before but he was in a bad work accident about 9 months ago.</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>So anyway he's going to be in the hospital for about 2 weeks. We went</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>and visited him the other day and it was pretty cool. I really don't</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>like hospitals but it was great to be there to talk about the gospel</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>of Jesus Christ. He's doing well and we're praying for a quick</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>recovery for him. Please pray if you would like! We also went on</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>exchanges this past week. I went with another first transfer Elder who</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>is our district leader Elder Calhoun's companion. It was great. I love</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>working with young missionaries! So our investigator Yu is still in</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>Beijing right now. He'll be back at the beginning of November, so</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>right now the finding game is on! We really want to find new people to</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>teach who are prepared to hear the restored gospel.</i></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /></i></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>We also have been getting a lot of meal appointments with members here</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>and have had the opportunity to share messages with them and help them</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>with their own personal missionary work, because after all it is the</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>members who need to find investigators! We met with a great older</i></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>couple from the second Ward who is really on fire right now with</i></span><br />

The weather is starting to get</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">cooler, which means fall is right around the corner. The work here is</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">still going well. We're also getting a lot of meals with members which</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">is the best! Love eating with the members and we usually take an</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">investigator along which is great as well. I haven't mentioned</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">anything about my Japanese lately, but it's getting decent. But, just</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">when I think it's good, I'll talk to someone or watch a church video</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">with tough Japanese and I'll realize how far I still have to go to get</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">this dang language down! Still working on it...</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">The work is good. Our investigator Hirotsugu is doing well right now.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">He came to church in a full suit yesterday which was awesome! He is</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">progressing so well. Also doing some finding as well which is always</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">fun.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Okay well, that's about all for this week. I hope you're doing well!</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Much love and prayers from Tokyo. I'm super excited to watch</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">conference next week, but I hope you were all able to feel a desire to</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">improve from it. The leaders of the church are amazing! Have a great</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">week!</span></i></span><br />

We weren't able to meet</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">with 3 of our top investigators last week which was tough, but</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">hopefully things will be better this week. Things could be worse!</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Elder Nitta is doing super well and has already gotten into the groove</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">of missionary work. It's fun working with him.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">So, our investigator Yu, who was supposed to be baptized in a few</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">weeks, just told us that he's leaving tomorrow to Beijing for a month</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">for an internship that he just got. That was a pretty sad hit since we</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">have become such great friends and he's gotten so strong over the past</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">few months. It's really hard since there are no missionaries in China</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">but we're going to try and keep in touch via Skype. Let's pray that he</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">stays strong! But, right now Hirotsugu is doing great. We got I'm in</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">the homes of members twice last week for meal and lesson appointments.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Those are great opportunities for him to strengthen his relationship</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">with the members and hear their testimonies. Right now he's</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">progressing really well, but is also having some worries, which I</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">think is normal. But, we love him so much and working with him hard!</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Lately I've been reading from President Hinkley's teachings of the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Presidents book in my free time and I've been learning a lot about</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">gaining and strengthening testimonies. One part in particular is about</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">gaining a testimony of the Book of Mormon. When Gordon B. Hinckley was</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">a young man, he established a pattern for scripture study. President</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Hinkley said, “As a missionary, I read each evening before going to</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">bed a few chapters of the Book of Mormon,” he said, “and there came</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">into my heart a conviction which has never left: that this is the word</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">of God, restored to the earth by the power of the Almighty, translated</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">by the gift and power of God to the convincing of the Jew and the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Gentile that Jesus is the Christ.” The Book of Mormon has such a</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">simple promise, that will be fulfilled to all who truly have the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">desire to know. I know the Book of Mormon is true! Continue to</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">strengthen your testimony and help others do so as well! Love you all!</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Have a great week!</span></i></span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">Elder Snyder and Elder Nitta</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">スナイダー長老と新田長老</span><br />

So, I will miss working with him, but I'm</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">staying here in Senzokuike/Tokyo 2nd so that's awesome!! I'm gonna be</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">a trainer again too! So actually the Tokyo west zone leader area is</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">moving to Shibuya, which is pretty much the center of Tokyo. There is</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">an 8 man apartment there and so they want to move the zone leaders</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">back into that apartment. It was fun being a zone leader for a while</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">but I am so ready to just work. Always in my area and with the faith</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">of a new missionary, I'm super excited.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">As for our area right now, it's doing great. Yu: Our Chinese buddy.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">He's still a genius, still the best. Progressing so well and should be</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">baptized within the next month! Hirotsugu: (Japanese) He has really</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">picked up recently. We have been teaching him regularly and he's</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">learning a lot. He's quite focused on learning everything and knowing</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">the answer to all of his questions, but we're working on helping him</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">feel the spirit to confirm the truthfulness of the gospel. Thamindu:</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">He's our Sri Lankan friend who loves the gospel already. He hasn't</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">been learning for very long but tells us he feels great when he reads</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">and prays. Doing great! Jorge: He's from Canada and he came walking</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">into the church a few weeks ago. He's seeking for the truth and so</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">it's really fun to teach him. He's really busy so we can only meet him</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">once or twice a week, but he's doing well. Takayuki: He is our awesome</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Japanese friend who loves us and loves basketball. We've become great</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">friends but we want him to open his heart more to the gospel. We found</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">out that his mother passed away 3 years ago and so he has showed</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">interest in the Plan of Salvation. He's awesome, so I really want to</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">get him progressing!</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">So right now we have a good balance of finding and teaching time. The</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">weeks are flying by. Our wards are doing great as well. It's pretty</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">fun to be working between 2 wards. It's also interesting to notice the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">difference between the Japanese ward and the English (mainly American)</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">ward. We had a delicious meal with an American family last night and</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">it felt like we were in America. We also had a meal with a Japanese</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">member family today with Hirotsugu and it was awesome. Things are</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">great!</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">This work is awesome! It's easy to say that when things are going so</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">well, but through the good and the bad, there's always something to be</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">learned. I'm grateful for all of the learning experiences that I've</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">had so far and I'm pumped to give everything for these last 4</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">transfers. Last week was awesome! One of the better weeks I've</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">had. First off, I love working with Elder Broberg. Sorry, we've both</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">been really bad at taking pictures the past 2 transfers but I'll try</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">and take some more to send! But, it's great and we are seeing so many</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">cool miracles. Our area is really doing well right now, probably the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">strongest any of my areas thus far on my mission. We have so many</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">great people to teach right now and it's fun! I've been talking a lot</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">about Yu lately, and he is still doing so well. He's one of the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">smartest people I know, and has been so prepared to hear the gospel.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">We're also working a lot with a guy named Hirotsugu. He has been</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">worked on by God for a while now too. He's the son of a member and</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">wants to change his life. The Lord is definitely in this work. No</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">doubt in my mind. There are also a few others that I don't have time</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">to talk about right now.. But I'll update you sometime!</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Moroni 17:23 For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">to their faith.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">It's true. Our personal faith will bring forth miracles in our life.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">God loves us as much as he loves those you read about in the</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">scriptures. Seek Him out!! Love you all, talk to you next week!</span></i></span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">Elder Snyder and Elder Broberg</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px;">スナイダー長老とブローバーグ長老</span><br />

I feel like I say this every 6 weeks but I'm so grateful to be serving here not only because Tokyo is the best mission in the world, but also because we get to go to the Temple so frequently! So this week is already week 5 of the transfer. Elder Broberg and I are still together and it's going great. He's an awesome missionary so we're having a lot of fun working together.</i></span></span></div>

He is 24, loves basketball and we were able to become friends pretty quickly. We have an elders quorum basketball activity every Saturday that he came to and it was great. We met with him last night and became best friends. He lost his mom a few years ago and we were able to share with him about eternal families. We also had a guy names Jorge self refer himself and show up to church on Sunday. He seems to have a ton of interest so we're excited! Yu is also doing great as well as Hirotsugu! <span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>Hey everyone! It's been another good week in Tokyo. The weather is nice and the Japanese food... Still delicious as ever. My companion Elder Broberg and I are doing great and we love working together. We had zone conference last week which was great. Love hearing from President and Sister Nagano and their guidance for the mission. We've been seeing a lot of great things in our area. We met a new guy who is a referral from Southern Japan who seems to have a lot of interest. His name is Hirotsugu and has lots of desire to change his life. Also, Yu is able to meet with us often and is progressing so well. He is my favorite! He comes to church and just loves it. </i></span></span></div>

I know that our faith is so important in fulfilling the Lord's work. Not only in missionary work but as well as in our personal lives are miracles wrought by our faith. I know that we can build our faith through diligent prayer and study, as well as obedience and our righteous desires. I love the gospel and the work of Salvation. It's true. He's doing great and really has a lot of interest in learning about Christ and the gospel. We still have our Chinese friends Michael and Yu who are doing well along with another new investigator from California! The work is hastening in this area! It's been well over a year and a half since either Ward in this area saw a baptism, but I can see it coming soon! The Ward mission leader here is an Australian man named Brother Curtis. He is an amazing man. He is helping us so much and helping this Ward so much. I haven't met many people who have as strong of a testimony of this gospel and desire to hasten the work of salvation as he does. Not a lot of time this week, but I just want to share something that I saw this past week that I really loved. This is from a talk from 1985 by Bruce R. McConkie entitled "The Purifying Power of Gethsemane". I would suggest that all of you watch this talk (because it's really powerful) or at least read it. It's a great testimony builder of the Atonement of our Savior. For now I just want to share a little part that hit me:</i></span></span></div>

Today we had the great opportunity to go to the temple and enjoy the spirit there. It was even better since we live in Tokyo so we could bike there! But it was a great day. So we have an investigator named Michael, who is Chinese. His real name isn't Michael but that's his name for English speakers. Anyway, he's doing really well right now. He came to church on Sunday and we were also able to have a few lessons with him throughout the week. He's been an investigator for a while now and is trying to figure out which church is true between our church and also another church that he's going to every other week. We are basing most of our teaching out of the Book of Mormon, so he can receive a confirmation that it's true, meaning our church is the one he needs to join. Our ward mission leader, Brother Curtis who is wayyy awesome, also gave us the idea to use family history/temple work in our lessons to help him realize that through our church he can help his ancestors as well. He's making progress in the right direction! Our other Chinese investigator Yu is also great but just so darn busy that we can't meet with him often. We're hoping to teach him more!!</i></span></span></div>

<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>Another good week in the blazing, humid heat of Tokyo! Yeah, it's starting to get pretty toasty. But it's fun! Today we had a zone p-day which was quite an adventure. So we did an activity at Odaiba beach right outside of Tokyo. We played frisbee, soccer and volleyball with the Tokyo west and east zones both there, which was fun, but the adventure was on the way there! We had planned to take the train there, but we realized that we could probably just bike there and we would save 10 bucks in train fare and it should only take about 30 minutes. You guys probably don't know what Odaiba is but it's a man made island in the Tokyo bay and unless we would've taken about an hour long detour to come in from the other side, you can't go over the bridge on your bike. We were not aware of this and so we gave it a go! So, what ended up happening was, we biked for about an hour and 15 minutes, sweating like crazy, trying to find the nearest train station that would take us there, and then ended up paying 5 bucks in train tickets anyway and got there for the last 45 minutes of the 2 hour activity! Pretty funny experience to remember! </i></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i><br /></i></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>Anyway, on to more important things. This week was another solid one! We had a really awesome miracle that strengthened our faith and is really going to help our area! So 2 weeks ago, we met an Indonesian guy on the street named Amar. He told us he didn't have any interest, so we gave him our flyer and we parted ways. Well, just the other day we met him again on the street, but this time he seemed to have much more interest, so we offered him a church tour and went right then since we happened to be only about a 5 minute walk from the church. So we showed him the chapel and then sat down and had a lesson with him. He told us that he had read our flyer, and one point that really intrigued him reads, "How can I know which church is true among so many?" He thought about it and said he decided to download the bible on his phone and try to start reading it. Anyway, we taught him about the Book of Mormon and how we can know which church is true. He said he'll be coming to church and will read the Book of Mormon and wants to continue meeting with us! Awesome! Also, our investigator Yu, told us earlier last week that he wasn't going to make it to church this week because he had some things going on. We were bummed about it but we showed up to church <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_73303674" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">on Sunday</span></span> and saw him there talking with some members in a white shirt and tie! He had to leave after sacrament meeting so we could get to where he had to be but it really showed us how much real intent he has! He's the man!</i></span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">

<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>Well that's about it for this week. Isn't it amazing how God's hand is in this work? I love you guys and know the church is true!! Have a great week!</i></span></span></div>

I'm finally starting to feel a little lighter on my feet after our 4th of July feast! Haha. So we had a good Sunday with 2 investigators making it to church! One of them is a Chinese man named Yu who has a lot of interest and is progressing really well. And he loves basketball so we have a good connection! The work here in Senzokuike is moving along well and Elder Broberg and I are contacting some great people so we're hopeful for the future here. </i></span></span></div>

We did a ton of teaching role plays, and as a mission we are going to be focusing on our skills because we are going to get lottts of green beans within the next few months. I'm excited to take it to zone meeting! I love President Nagano. He's so smart and full of inspiration. It's pretty sweet to here Sister Nagano's testimony of him being called of God. I also got to go on exchanges last week with a Japanese Elder named Elder Ammon Kido. He's literally the biggest Japanese kid I've ever seen. Biggest as in widest, most athletic I've seen. He said he was a swimmer since age 4, and so his shoulders are wider than mine! But, it was fun out with him. </i></span></span></div>

I want to share my testimony of the Book of Mormon. So as I think you all know, we are doing the Christlike attributes Book of Mormon challenge as a mission. As I've read and focused on Christlike attributes, I've noticed how Christlike servants of the Lord truly are, Nephi for example. Anyway, as I've read I've been able to feel the power of the Holy Ghost strengthen my testimony of this great work. I know it's true and I'm grateful for the blessings we receive from the gospel.
